Minutes for 02/05/2009

• T-shirt Designs!!!!  Start thinking about potential T-shirt designs for our club t-shirts.  You can email us your ideas, or put them in an envelope that will be hung up in 0319 on the microscope cabinets.  There is a lime green folder over by the computers with some sample designs you can look at too. 

 

• Movie Night:  Friday, February 27th @ 6pm in 0319.  Pizza and Refreshments will be provided. We are still deciding on which movie we will be watching.

 

• Presentation:  Friday, March 13th @ 12pm in 0319.  Dave Lowrie will be giving a special presentation for us on various mineral specimens and showing us a short film.  This will be a great presentation, you won't want to miss it!!! 

 

• Ohio Caverns:  The club is planning a day trip to the Ohio Caverns during spring break.  An email containing the exact date and time will be sent out soon.  This is a fun trip, great for the whole family!!

 

• Tour of the Grosse Pointe Farms Water Treatment Plant:  Saturday, March 28th @ 1pm.  Ever wonder what steps are involved in water filtration?  Well if you have, then you won't want to miss this field trip.  We will be going on a guided tour of the water plant, getting a behind the scenes look at the technology and chemistry behind water treatment.

 

•  Elections for club officers for Fall 09'/winter 10' school year will be held in late April.

 

•  Come see the movie "Earth", a movie adaptation of the landmark BBC series Planet Earth, on Friday May 1st.  Once show-times become available we can decide on a theatre and time.
